Temporal Mimesis

Austria-born artist Mario D. Fischer has created an intriguing set of work, called Temporal Mimesis, using rigid foam, resin and patina. The beautiful twists and turns suddenly give way to hidden human forms. What i like about this is eventhough its rigid state it moves and flows like like a thick liquids, i cant stop think of tooth paste.

1/2

Venezuela-based student Jesús González Rodríguez mixed layers to create some of the trippiest face illusions i've seen. Simply titled 1/2, the photos ask you to look both straight on and to the side. By using a blank white wall for the background and by cutting his subjects down in just the right shape. It makes you look long and hard just to try and work it out.

Initial Design

The second years are starting their design project and at the most exciting point. I love initial designs and working through their ideas, sketching and brainstorming. Love the process.

Remains of the day

Its all in the process, after a productive creative and energetic day in the studios. There is a buzz even in an empty studio.

Don't draw what you know, draw what you discover.

Guerrilla Lighting Installations

I dropped onto  the Guerrilla Lighting Installations through the Architecture website Dezeen, its a series of installations set up in Madrid by Luzinterruptus. His website is in Spanish but there are some English parts and its worth a look. A couple of installations kind of reminds me of a large inflatable Elephant that a student did for his  FMP a couple of years ago. Luzinterruptus is anonymous collective art. They carry out urban installations in public spaces and use light as raw material and the night as our canvas.
The three members of the team come from different backgrounds such as art, lighting and Photography and they apply their creativity in a common action , leaving lights on in protest, so that other people turn them off.
